TEMPLAR CHARITIES AND TRUSTS
Modern Templary continues the altruistic legacy of the original Order and seeks to serve the community by way of charitable assistance.
Chapter 5 of the Templar Rule clearly sets out the expectations of Knights and Dames of the Order and their commitment to those less fortunate:
"As a knight, stand up for the weak, above all for women and children, widows and orphans who need your help."
To fulfil that requirement, the Grand Priory and the regional Preceptories support a number of local, national and international good causes. In addition, we also help preserve and broaden Templar history and knowledge through grants and bursaries through the the Templar Heritage Trust and the Templar Pilgrimage Trust.
The donations that we make to all these recipients are generated from a variety of sources, including subscriptions and donations from the members, fund raising dinners, sponsored events and other fund-raising ideas.
